I didn't know that this existed until today. YouTube link I hadn't seen the old TV series, but this trailer makes me want to see the film. Henry Cavill hits just the right note of smarminess, the Russian guy is cool, and the whole thing is set in 1963 (do pay attention, 007). For those inspired to game by this, there is a range of 28mm spies from Mark Copplestone: Link Ron |

Me ! ME ! I loved the old Man From Uncle series ! I liked it better than James Bond ! Had all kinds of Man From Uncle toys and stuff … Wish I still had all that today … could make some good coin on eBay … "Open Channel D …" |

I remember the original and the spin off woman from uncle. The original still airs on ME TV cable channel. "Ducky" David McCallum, from NCIS was the Russian guy and Robert Vaughn was Napoleon Solo. |

The original series was great, although the third season was weak, as they tried to make a comedy out of it to respond to the success of the Batman series. That's what killed the show part-way through the fourth season. They had returned to a more serious format, but too late |

I remember it and girl from uncle spin off and lets not forget that other great spinoff – Get Smart. |

Ducky was asked what he looked like when he was young and responded "Ilya Kuriakin" |

It looks great but it's so hard to judge a movie anymore by it's trailer. I so loved the series when I was growing up. |

I am. Had a Man from Uncle toy playset, I got on a visit to New Yowk Citeeee as a wee tot. Great stuff. Especially loved the scoped pistol, but the other spy stuff in it was pretty cool too. Loved the series. Good, campy fun. I hope the movie is good. |

Of course we'll all go see it. Reminds me, though. I tried watching the old series a few years ago. I remember my 9 year old self looking forward to it all those years ago, and loving it. My 55 year old self thought it was a pretty stupid show with really bad acting and poor story lines. Ahhh….aging memories. |

I remember that NCIS episode ! My 55 year old self thought it was a pretty stupid show with really bad acting and poor story lines. Yeah now … but as you noted our much younger selves loved it … Just like Batman, the Green Hornet, etc. … The word "campy" comes to mind. Which was a pretty good word for much of the TV shows at that time … |

Even I at the bottom of the world remember seeing it, thought it very cool back then (oK got it as some sort of syndicated package in the mid 70s). Thanks SBC. |

Looks like it may be good. I like how they made it a period piece instead of a modern version. |
