Here are pictures rescued from 31 rolls of undeveloped film from WWII era. Unfortunately no context is known for some of the pictures.

That is very cool. Thanks for sharing.

I have a good friend who bought an old German camera at a garage sale for $10. USD It was in bad shape, but this guy loved it. Out of old habit, he opened it in a dark room, and found it was full of half used film. He had it developed and it was pictures of a very young looking Tiger I crew from the 12th SS. It was amazing seeing them, especially for the first time.

I will see if I can contact him and see if he will let me scan them. He is a bit of a luddite, however…so will see.

Looks like an American demobilization or training camp in France in 1945, if they are all from the same area. The hills with a pronounced notch or gap may be the clue to identifying it. It looks like New Market Gap as seen from the west (Shenandoah Valley of Virginia).

This new link looks to have a much more complete collection of photos including some that are less then perfect.

Dan, I'm pretty sure the photos with the "gap" are "The Gap" or Ft Indiantown Gap in Central PA. Was just there for 2015 Battle of the Bulge reenactment, and sure enough, it looks an awful like the photos, snow and all.
