Was looking both at Ozy and Tumbling Dice but both seem to have the drop tanks molded on. Id rather have a clean model if possible. Does anyone make them without? Or is there an easy way to remove the tanks? Thanks in advance! |

I used a pair of snips a coarse file ans finally an emery board on TD's model. Of course this will not work on O8's version. To be honest I just leave them on these days. Fatman |

Same as Fatman: snip, file and Ivan's your uncle. Easy to do but less tiring if you don't do a full squadron. |

Dremel with a grinding disk. Of course, holding the mini in place, while grinding, and without letting go, or damaging the mini is the tricky part. Wish they'd make one without tanks. |

Thank you all very much! Would you mind sharing why it works on TD's models but not O8? |

O8's metal is much, much harder and, as a result, the models are much harder to modify (or drill into for that matter). |

I was going to say that O8 planes are made out of politicians hearts but Risaldar Singh's answer will do. ;-) Fatman |

Yea, apparently the 08 models are cast with a mix of aluminum and nickel, instead of lead/pewter, making them much harder. |
