The events list at this year's Seven Years War Association con is shaping up to be a good one, with over two dozen games. The schedule should be finalized and published in a couple weeks, but without spilling the beans I can tell you that it will feature many of the same well-known rules authors and gamemasters that have graced previous conventions, plus some fascinating newcomers, covering everything from the Great Northern War to the American War of Independence. Of particular interest to me are the half-dozen naval events . . . a naval gamer could play all weekend and never set foot on dry land!
For my own part, I am bringing three very different scenarios. The first is a single ship action, recreating the first exchange of naval gunfire of the AWI, Arethusa vs Belle Poule in 1:1200, using "Captains Bold":
The second will be a fleet action in 1:900, using the "Admirals" rules, with Boscawen facing off against De la Clue off Lagos in 1759:
And, finally, a Royal Navy squadron hunting down French corsairs in 1:600, using "Away Boarders!":

Not to be missed. This should be great fun!
