I just found out I will attend Conquest Con in Sacramento in March. Never traveled this far to a con. Any clues on what to expect? There's Bolt Action games listed, should I offer to run something different?

Being one of the local Sacramento gamers, welcome to our convention. I've never been to a convention outside of Northern California, but I expect they're all kind of the same.

The war games are usually in one large banquet room. There's also role playing games and board games in separate rooms. There will be one flea market, Saturday at 11:30 a.m. I think.

There's a small dealers room that is mostly game stores instead of figure manufacturers.

The food options have change frequently over the life of this convention. But there's a pizza place, Starbucks and subway within a 5 minute easy walk.

Being a local I've never stayed at the hotel so I can't comment on what the rooms are like.

Our local Sacramento Club is hosting a big fantasy 15 millimeter game with about 3,000 figures I believe if that's your thing.

But there will be plenty of historical and other games for you to try. It would be very nice if you wanted to run a game, but there'll probably be plenty for you to play in.

this will also be my first time to this convention, having recently moved to the area.

I can vouch for the MWS club being full of good guys, as I'm meeting all of them.

i am running two games of Lion Rampant, set in dark age England. there are a couple other miniature games on the schedule that I am interested in from all genres, and I'm also going to try to get in a few pick up games as well.
