I have in mind to make a field medical unit in 1/600. I have the vehicles, but I need some large tents of the sort used for field hospitals. I don't believe I have seen any tents for sale in this scale, but perhaps I've missed them? |

I haven't seen any either. Try making some out of balsa wood, cut and sanded to shape. Alternatively, you could use clay as well, since the shapes are pretty basic. Shouldn't be too hard to do. I've made some WWII style ones out of balsa, and they turned out decent enough. |

Perhaps this is a void that a Shapeways designer could fill |

Irregular do 2 different ridge tents in 2mm and the largest of those may work. I think the Baccus large 6mm tents may be a bit too big and the small ones the wrong shape. I think using one of the polymer clays would be the easiest way to get it done. |

The National Cheese Emporium has some nice plans of what could fit your (and others) needs: link I am not sure how far the progress of this project is right now but it looks promising. Cheers, Benjamin |

A bit futuristic for my needs, I think |

Well, I do have this: shpws.me/DAtO
It's 6mm, but I could scale it down. Or if you just want some GP Mediums and whatnot, I could probably whip them up pretty quickly. |

I am looking for something that would be a quickly erected field aid station, so I think just some large general-purpose rectangle and square tents please |
javelin98 | 08 Feb 2015 7:21 p.m. PST |
How does this look?
I know the sides on a GP Medium aren't normally bowed in, but at this scale, it's necessary to exaggerate the "soft wall" look just a bit, or else it would end up looking like a small house. |

Looks great!! Maybe a square in addition to the rectangle |
javelin98 | 08 Feb 2015 9:07 p.m. PST |
Cool! How many do you want of each? |
javelin98 | 08 Feb 2015 10:54 p.m. PST |
Or, you can just go with 16 large and 8 small, here: shpws.me/EJEP |
HistoryPhD | 09 Feb 2015 8:48 a.m. PST |
How about making a page of half of that? 8 and 4 |

Interesting. I would appreciate (very much) to see this:
in 3mm scale. At last I was wondering a bit about the prices of your recent additions (the US Army GP Tents and Wheeled Military Cargo Trucks) compared to earlier designs. Any chance to create an image comparing the new trucks to a CV90 and SAMIL truck? However keep 'em coming I will find a way to add some money to my Leopard 2 budget for additional stuff… Cheers Benjamin |

You are an outstanding individual, javelin. And you know where we used to say that |
javelin98 | 09 Feb 2015 7:41 p.m. PST |
Done! shpws.me/ELGq Benjamin, I'll look at rescaling those other tents into 3mm for you! |
javelin98 | 09 Feb 2015 11:44 p.m. PST |
Hey, Benjamin! On those trucks, I had scaled them incorrectly. I think they're a little more reasonable now! shpws.me/EJKc |

Great news Javelin! Considering that the tents will not require detailed material I will order some next time plus the Field Hospital if you manage to rescale it. Posted both new additions on my 3mm Facebook page, hopefully some will see and like it (enough to get some ). Regards, A fan |
