Very happy with the service and the quality of the 42mm Marlburian toy soldier style figures from Irregular. Same day response to questions and order. Figures arrived in less than a week to the Netherands.
It's a delightful figure range that I plan to use with the new Neil Thomas One Hour Wargaming. I think the higher level abstracted rules will go great with these and give me a great old school game ala Charge! but with smaller units. I plan on 4-6 figure units and 8 units per side. Perhaps the most realistic/doable plan I have ever had!

Irregular gives some of the best service in the industry, and the breadth of their ranges and scales is second to none. I've painted up a lot of their 42mm and can tell you you have a treat in store; they're great fun to paint and the scale is very pleasing to the eye. Have fun!

What is the hardness/quality of their metal? Is it similar to Perry or to brands that still use softer metal?

Cheers,
Chris

Agree. Irregular is one of my favorite companies. Excellent customer service.

I'm in California and I've always had superb service from Irregular – and never once any error in what was received versus what was ordered and never anything missing.

I think you'll find the quality of metal just fine. Twenty years ago I got a few castings that were a bit off (carts) but more recent orders have been excellent.

Sausagesca, I have never had Perry miniatures, but I can say the metal seems pretty good quality. There are no nicks or anything from the figures impacting each other during shipping and anything that I have had to straighten- flag poles, swords etc- have withstood it with no problem. there is no evidence of cracking or fatigue at any point.
There was very little clean up required as far as flashing goes. Just a quick scrape with the xacto knife. They are painting up quickly too.
Again, I am very pleased with the product.

I have been looking at their figures for the Italian Wars of Unification (French, Austrian, Italians) in 25mm but it is hard to tell from the pictures how detailed the figures are. How do these compare in size and sculpting to Foundry figures such as the Franco-Prussian war figures?

Got my figures yesterday that I had ordered.I was very happy with them as I had them painted. If you go to 25mm Colonials you can see them.Highly recommend IM. Just sent in another order.
