The Kickstarter for the Conan boardgame is getting close to hitting $2 USDmillion, with 4 days left. It could end being being the biggest boardgame kickstarter ever. link It's looking like being a great game and with all the stretch goals it is a good deal even just for the miniatures. For $90 USD you get over 130 figures, plus some extra bits like tentacles, chests and dungeon scenery. |

I was going to pull the trigger on this….but then my wife (who didn't mind if I did or didn't) reminded me of what has happened with the "All Quiet on the Martian Front" KS…… Will this Kick Starter be so successful that the makers will take months extra…or longer…to get your product to you? Estimated delivery is October…..will you get your game then…or months later? And then your stretch rewards even later after that? I wish them and all their backers the best of luck….but based on my AQMF experience…I'm passing…. Dave |

As long as it arrives – I'm in. Any delays are acceptable tbh – more time to paint other stuff…. and CROM! It's Conan! |
McWong73 | 07 Feb 2015 6:14 a.m. PST |
Yeah, my experience with the big ones who've never delivered anything at this scale before tells me it will arrive a lot later than October…probably past October 2016. But yeah, good price there for a sheet tonne of bendy plastic gaming pieces. |

I am more interested in the miniatures than the game – so if anyone wants to split it (you get the game and some miniatures, I want most of the 'evil' miniatures like undead, picts, monsters) let me know! |

Im in as well and I expect the delay. With a +$2,000,000 level NO one could have expected that, wished it, but not expected. So yea with 10,000 plus buyers it will take extra time. Duane |

I only want the figs too, shame, there doesn't seem to be an option |
Dr Mathias | 07 Feb 2015 9:39 a.m. PST |
I'd count on it being at least six months late. |
ajbartman | 07 Feb 2015 9:49 a.m. PST |
I'm in. Hopefully they will get base set out first. And yes, same problem here with AQMF. Still trying to get some of my stuff from the 2nd shipment. |
evilcartoonist | 07 Feb 2015 9:58 a.m. PST |
I'm going to say 3 months late. A couple things this game has over others is that the playtesting is mostly done; most of the art is done; many of the core figures had masters already sculpted before the KS even began. A lot of work has already been put into this one, work that other campaigns usually do after their Kickstarter has finished. Another issue delaying a lot of KS projects is the labor dispute on the west coast docks, with shipments from China backing up as a result; this project will be shipping from Europe (made by Ludofact in Germany.) |

They will go into the Bones stack… |
axabrax | 07 Feb 2015 10:19 a.m. PST |
Yes, it could take six months to a year longer than they are estimating. This is pretty standard for boardgame kickstarters with 150+ miniatures from what I've seen. It's the nature of the beast. Remember, however, that it may take years after that for the stuff to be released at retail so you're still getting it sooner rather than later. As long as it comes through, I am fine with the potential for delays. If they are smart, they will release some of it by the estimated date and then the rest in later waves. |

This KS has the look of a runaway train. I'd love to jump in, but I think I will wait for retail. The KS fail pile is starting to grow to big. But I wish them and all you backers the best of luck, as I'd love to get this game after the KS. Xin |

I'm really tempted – that's a lot of bonus items that have been unlocked…. ….but then I watched the video of the 4 guys playing a full game…and it didn't look so very exciting…. Torn – a beautiful box full of wonderful toys, and a game that might not be so very exciting and doesn't get played. Crom ! Help me Decide ! And if you won't, then to hell with you!" |

Took two years to get Horror on the Orient Express, but it was well worth the money and the wait. |
nazrat | 07 Feb 2015 2:38 p.m. PST |
There's some cool looking artwork and renders of great fantasy models there but very little beyond the myriad models of Conan himself looks like the Hyborian Age to me. I wish them luck, especially with meeting all those orders! |
Mister Tibbles | 07 Feb 2015 3:44 p.m. PST |
The Exploding Kittens card game at $5.6 USD million makes this Conan look like chump change, and EK still has 12 days to go! BTW Mister Tibbles does not like cats, but does like when they explode, for obvious reasons. link

That… now… Just speechless! |
Redcurrant | 07 Feb 2015 6:52 p.m. PST |
I am very tempted by the Conan Kickstarter thats a lot of minis that do look very nice. I have been a fan of Robert E Howards books for over 40 years, and although I have no interest in boardgames or fantasy gaming these figures just beg to be painted and put in a display case. I still have a couple of days to make my decision about whether to jump in or not. Think I will give the exploding kittens a miss though! Steve |
evilcartoonist | 07 Feb 2015 10:36 p.m. PST |
The Exploding Kittens campaign is the one I'd be afraid to be running; getting shipments ready for more than 140,000 backers?! Redcurrant, if you're just going for minis, the Barbarian pledge will yield you plenty (with all of those stretch goals.) |
LostPict | 09 Feb 2015 9:16 a.m. PST |
I had opted in for the King, but opted out once the shipping prices were released. I am looking forward to cherry picking some of the minis when they eventually hit ebay. The part I find fascinating is the number of folks that were in for the "all in" pledge at $490 USD plus shipping. That makes even GW games look cheap! |
evilcartoonist | 09 Feb 2015 10:18 a.m. PST |
All-in just got $33 USD more expensive with the addition of the "dragon." (Using quotes there, because Robert E. Howard's version of a dragon is probably not what you think.) |
darthfozzywig | 09 Feb 2015 7:22 p.m. PST |
Shipping to the US even with the stretch goals is $22. USD Not enough to keep me out of this, by Crom! |
LostPict | 10 Feb 2015 6:23 a.m. PST |
Darth, that is good news – it had been listed as $40 USD+, but $22 USD tips the scale of my personal KS economics back towards opting in. Thanks for the tip, by Crom! |

Almost at 2.5M. Update 84 has the latest estimate on shipping: link |
