Hi all,
An army begins with the first unit, and so I have started the Army of Estremadura with the Badajoz Regiment that was in the front rank of battalions forming General Portago's 3rd Spanish Division.

picture

The regiment had been rebuilt prior to Talavera following two disastrous battles the previous year and displayed the results of this history, being one of the four battalions that broke to the rear after firing a volley at French cavalry pickets.

If you would like to know more about this unit or the Army of Estremadura, then as always, just follow the link to JJ's

Now that takes real imagination. Brilliant. We can all do 95th, Guard Grenadiers or Prussian Fusiliers……something different for once

I've just gone back to check the source of these figures as I previously searched everywhere for top hats for Napoleon's Household postillions. Now I know why I never found them….

These are not 28mm…they are 18mm!!!!!!!!! (Wow)

Those are wonderful. Your battalions are usually full of character, but this one is even better.

Cheers EB, glad you like them

The worst thing about the Napoleonic period is that there are so many armies involved – I want a Spanish battalion like that now, but it wouldn't fit with my 1800 Italian campaign :(
