Could anyone tell me how 15mmUK's (I never know what to actually *call* them) 'ALTUOS' 15mm Renaissance miniature's line sizes up against other manufacturer's? Like Essex, or Old Glory? I am familiar with their homegrown fantasy & sci-fi lines, but I don't know if their historicals are comparable (or even an in-house line). Thanks in advance! |

The historicals are the old TTG lines. I have some in the TTG packaging. I could possibly take a picture of all three so you can see how they stack up. PM me as a reminder and I'll do it in the morning. |

Thank you very much, I will! |

I've got some of the Reiters, Landsknecht pike and the early C16th gun crew and they are all the exact same size as the old Minifigs 2nd gen line. (I believe the sculptor used Minifigs dollies to create the figures). However, the Janisseries appear to have been done by a different sculptor and so may be slightly different in size (the proportions of the figures certainly look different). |

QRF are the dinkiest, Museum the chunkiest although most of it is down to the heads (so swap them around a bit and any real differences dissipate rapidly) … For Landsknechts I've gone for a mix of MM, Essex, QRF and Altuos infantry and Essex mounted (which don't really mix so well with anything else). Doing it again I might not bother with QRF. Best figures are MM. Best value are MM. Best Altuos items are the Landsknecht Arquebusier and Swordsman. Phil |

Looking at the 15mm.co and QRF both above and on the websites I'd say they are the same figures. I have quite a few of them. |

No … they are different figures. Bought from both within the last few months. 15mm.co/Altuos are different designs, slightly larger and made of a harder metal. Phil |

That's great, Phil, just what I need! I like to use Essex 15's as my yardstick, I am very familiar with them, and they are a very consistent size. I may be going with Museum. 15mmCo is probably a bit too small, though I was really hoping they would fit better because I like dealing with the company, bu mostly because they are sold individually. I'm really just looking to fill in a few gaps with some variety. Anyone dealt with Museum's US distributor before? Thanks again, everyone! |

Don't let me put you off sprinkling a few Altuos figures around … that's what I have done. Also, it does depend what you want. My project was specifically Landsknecht (and for that I have mixed in some Altuos double swordsmen and quite a few Arquebusiers … the pikes are nearly all MM but I did replace the pike with ready-made wire ones) … Phil |

The Altous Doppelsoldner are awesome with that sword overhead! |

I think I will order a few Altuos, just to check them out; again, being sold individually is a HUGE bonus for this. I replace all my 15mm pikes with wire ones, as bothersome as that is. The upside is that you can turn (usually different) halberdiers into pikemen. |

Not to do 15mm out of business Beast (I just ordered about 150.00 dollars worth at their end of year sale and they are doing well by me), but Viking Forge has many of the same figures in their Renaissance lines. These are the old Asgard/Tabletop lines. Not sure how both outfits ended up with them, but if you check out the websites, they match. I haven't actually ordered from VF, but the prices are a bit lower and I would presume time of delivery would be better. As to size many of the figures that I have came off Ebay and were labeled as Minifigs. Wasn't until manufacturer's websites started adding pictures that I was able to determine what they actually were. As noted they are very similar in size to MF 2nd. P.S. Speaking of that Landsknecht doppelsword - thevikingforge.net/MR-28.html
