I played the first scenario in One-Hour Wargames using my South American Wars of Liberation figures and using the Horse and Musket rules in the book. The result was more interesting than I expected. link My long-term plan is to record a refight of each of the thirty scenarios in the book on my blog, using whatever rules and figures take my fancy as I do each one. |

I, too, await more reports. I am considering doing a "tournament" of warfare thru the ages, probably Egyptian/Sea People, Roman/Celts, Thirty years war, French/British in the SYW and end with Blue/Grey. You would play each scenario and the winner would be the one who won the most battles. |

@Phil – That sounds like an interesting idea. Would you play all 30 scenarios with each army combination, or play a set of each with each army pairing? |

One of the Fencibles wrote a sci-fi novel back in the day called Warchild. In it telepaths wandered through portals in and out of different periods of time, collecting troops for a war for final control. One battle featured a group of spearmen being savaged by Wermacht troops with a halftrack mounted MG until the halftrack was incinerated by laser fire from another unit. This gave me the idea that not only would we pick scenarios by die roll but the winner would get to pick the period. I've not yet broached this idea to the guys. |

For the second scenario I used the same armies, but tweaked the rules a bit. Pitched Battle (2) – link To be honest the rule changes are more interesting than the ensuing game … |
