You are a wargamer. You are therefore not all that rational. Everybody complains when some manufacturer makes a "new " range of French Imperial Guard, Early Imperial Romans , Tiger tanks, etc. "Why don't they make something new and original, like Philippine Constabulary ski troops or Finnish surfers with Suomi submachinegun?" I am not immune to this. I have demanded that somebody should make mounted AWI Hessian jaegers, Spirit of 76, Washington Crossing the Delaware, etc. Lordy! The Spirit of 76 has been made by Jim Purky's Fife and Drum Miniatures! So, having been encouraged by these things, I now feel free to demand that SOMEBODY make Hessian jaegers and Washington etcetera. What is the most outlandish thing you have DEMANDED that "somebody" make? Because it's all about you. |

Zombies in Middle Eastern costume. I requested this a few times many years ago, well before World War Z came out. They would have been multi-purpose as Zeds, Pulp Cultists in rags, refugees or other victims of 'Civil Unrest'. Never did happen. |

Demanded is too strong a word, but I requested that someone make an armoured autocar in 1:56 (or thereabout)
link Still looking for one, btw. I scratched together a sort of approximation of one, but it just ain't right and I'd like a 'proper' one. |

Demand smacks far too much of a sense of entitlement. I have occasionally been mildly disappointed that some particular toy is not available, and have then shrugged and either converted something else into an approximation or waited a decade or three for someone to make it. An affordable 20mm Schneider CA1 would be nice, but I ended up making a hideous card model. I expect Lancer do one now. |

Sometimes if you request something on the occasion you get to talk with a manufacturer, and its not too far out there, great things happen. |

White Russian Lancers in Chinese Service for Back of Beyond. Based on a description by Joe "Vinegar" Stilwell in his biography, of some White Russians working for a Chinese Warlord. Armed with lances, beheading swords, and pistols. I asked Mark Copplestone if I could pick and mix some of the pieces to make them from multiple parts of his range, with the only missing component I'd have to sculpt being the mauser pistol in wooden holster. He replied that I could do that, or he'd have a bash at sculpting them himself…BU50 was the result… |

We do plan to do Mounted Jaegers along with mounted and dismounted Brunswick Dragoons for the AWI. Oh, sorry they will be in 40mm. However, it will make the 40mm collectors happy! Winston, would you like a set of these also when they come out? |
Atomic Floozy | 07 Feb 2015 6:34 a.m. PST |
More wishful thinking than a demand. I'd like to see Kiowa in 28mm to go with my Comanche & Southern Cheyenne; an Army ambulance configured as a transport; and personalities other than Custer's command. You know, Ranald Mackenzie, Nelson Miles, Frank Baldwin, Quanah Parker, Santanta, etc. But we all know we'll get more John Ford style cavalrymen & Custer figures that look like Errol Flynn. |
Lee Brilleaux | 07 Feb 2015 8:31 a.m. PST |
I'd like a 28mm James Bond figure that came in several variants – Savile Row suit, dinner jacket, frogman suit, swimming trunks and black burglar clothes. You'd change figures from scene to scene or room to room. You could appear in the wetsuit and remove it to reveal the evening clothes. Also a female version in catsuit, cocktail dress, swimsuit, possibly a towel. It's 1964, after all. |
Texas Jack | 07 Feb 2015 9:13 a.m. PST |
I wouldn´t call it demanding something, it is more like begging. Regardless, I think every 10mm manufacturer out there knows that I crave the fearsome US M2 medium tank which was outdated before it even left the drawing board. I really really really want it! |

On topic I haven't ever demanded anything from any manufacturer. I have asked Anthony Barton of AB to makes more 20mm Fallschirmjagers and a line of US Airborne, but I can live without either, really. Too much other stuff to paint anyway! |

I wanted the following outrageous things. 1. A set of sixty miniatures of Maria Theresia's Court at a Grand Review of her troops. All the figures of generals, courtiers, civilian notaries lords, ladies and so forth with servants lackeys etc. 2. I wanted figures modeled on thos portraits of Reynolds, Gainsborough, and sor forth of civilians and couples at ease. 3. A matched set in the 18th century with a young girl, and her barely 18 officer saying their goodbye's as he is going off to war in America, with her cradling his head on his shoulder as the dabs her tears, and a third figure, his servant with his hand outstretched as if saying, "M'Lord we must go.
4. A figure right out of the movie Waterloo of Young Lord Hay dancing with his fiance at that last dance at the Duchess of Richmond's ball before Waterloo and they are whirling in the waltz but their eyes are fastened solely on each other, as if they wished to drink up as much of each other as they can, for they know they shall never wed.

Well, I did get Eureka to make evzones for me. Other things I've suggested include a lady based more or less on Jayma Mays in Epic Movie, a selection of RCMPs in scarlet coat (available at Pulp Miniatures), and the Reuss/Waldeck battalion for the Confederation of the Rhine (which Perry now makes). I suggested Foundry make some reasonably realistic shield maidens, in addition to the Valkyries and shield maidens they were already making. It was probably an accident, but they did bring out some reasonably appropriate figures, so I bought the to encourage them to make the figures I'd like to see. Grelber |
