Separate heads on work..
Actually.. how many separate heads are optimal? |
baxterj | 05 Feb 2015 4:05 a.m. PST |
Sho, do you mean separate heads for us to put on or individual head variants that are attached to the figure? |
Sho Boki | 05 Feb 2015 4:17 a.m. PST |
With this cossacks I try concept, where the heads and gloves are separately added and every wargamer can construct troopers by his own taste. |
Eclipsing Binaries | 05 Feb 2015 5:30 a.m. PST |
Sounds like a good idea Sho. Gives the gamer a lot of options. |
von Winterfeldt | 05 Feb 2015 5:53 a.m. PST |
one has to see how convenient it will work – seperate gloves? |
paulalba | 05 Feb 2015 6:37 a.m. PST |
Sho great looking figures, To be honest I think for your sales if you went with your 1st choice of gloves then if people have the mind and skill they can remove the gauntlet. To have no gloves but the gauntlets as a separate item maybe to close to a kit and over complicate them. With the separate heads I like the idea of having some spare heads supplied as an option as long as the colpack style is attached to the figure line leaving it an option for the customer if he/she would like to remove a head or 2 and swap in a different head. Again I wouldn't like you to lose any sales if they were over complicated. Attaching new heads may not be something everyone would like to do. Again the figures are looking great! Cheers Paul |

I can't wait to get these too |
AUXILIAPAL | 05 Feb 2015 8:05 a.m. PST |
Really great work, again Boki! Me too can't wait to add those to my collection! Robert |
Sho Boki | 05 Feb 2015 9:26 a.m. PST |
Thanks! :) Gloves/gauntlets needs glue and will be fixed, but heads are freely changeable and reversible. For those, who don't like construction works at all, I do one piece troopers as well. I think, that 2 different heads per pose will be enough.. then with two poses we have 4 different heads and this is sufficient variety. |
paulalba | 05 Feb 2015 9:43 a.m. PST |
Ok Sho, I'm sure you have your plans for casting. I am very happy with spare heads. Again very excited with these guys and the ADC set etc. Cheers Paul |

Been wanting these for years, can't wait!! |
Sho Boki | 09 Feb 2015 7:11 a.m. PST |
When I prepared the gloves for moulding, I lost them all. So tiny and fragrant pieces. Therefore at least one troopers pose becomes impossible and others must be casted separately. Damn! But on some day I try again with separate hands.. |

The figures look good. Although these are full Summer dress rather than campaign dress. It would be good to see other options as shown in my book on the Leib-Garde Cossacks. link Stephen |
Sho Boki | 23 Mar 2015 8:42 a.m. PST |
Hi Stephen, I try to sculpt all my troops as on parade ground. At least headgears without covers. Sculpting continues after halfway moulding..

I'm pleased to see progress on them. |

My eyes must be playing tricks on me for a moment there I thought I seen a Lieb garde Cossack trumpeter! |

Yesss! My silicone shipment from Germany are in Estonia now. On next Monday I get this and mouldmaking begins. |

Lovely work |
summerfield | 14 May 2015 3:39 a.m. PST |
The Leib Garde Cossacks were in effect Ulans and so had trumpeters. They were regular cavalry riding Orlov Horses and had stirrups. Ordinary cossacks did not have trumpeters, stirrups and rode Don Cossack Horses. Stephen |
Sho Boki | 14 May 2015 9:27 a.m. PST |
Are you sure, that ordinary cossacks don't have stirrups? All old pictures and russian sources, I have, shows stirrups. |
Sho Boki | 04 Jun 2015 10:57 a.m. PST |
Command are casted. Charging Cossacks are next on moulding line.
|
Sho Boki | 10 Jun 2015 9:44 a.m. PST |
Right two have broken necks. Must remould. Seems like Cossacks Troopers mould are cursed too. Two broken necks and scabbards after first half. I hope that this not influence badly to second half. Separate heads don't work well even for myself. |
paulalba | 10 Jun 2015 3:00 p.m. PST |
Plenty of time Sho, I'm sure they will come good in the end. We will be waiting for them when you get over the teething problems. |
Sho Boki | 10 Jun 2015 3:13 p.m. PST |
Mould are in owen, after 3 hours I do first troopers castings. Then will be clear, moulds succeed or not. Meanwhile I prepare mould matrix for 6mm Austrians. |
Sho Boki | 10 Jun 2015 7:24 p.m. PST |
First image. Looks normal. Some scabbards don't have full length but this is acceptable.
|
paulalba | 10 Jun 2015 10:48 p.m. PST |
They are looking very nice Sho. |
baxterj | 11 Jun 2015 2:14 p.m. PST |

Sho Boki | 11 Jun 2015 2:40 p.m. PST |
Will cast these and prepare ordering page on weekend, first shipments may post on Monday. I finish mould and cast 6mm early Austrians on weekend too. |

Riding without stirrups? Wow, I didn't even know it was possible to do that while using a weapon. |
paulalba | 10 Jul 2015 8:49 a.m. PST |
I'll what till the command is available Sho. |
Sho Boki | 10 Jul 2015 10:06 a.m. PST |
I do one charging figure more with cap, Paul. And I think, that this is good idea to put commands of all sets in one mould. |
Sho Boki | 19 Jul 2015 11:06 a.m. PST |
Command fixed. Charging Black See Sotnya ready. Standing troopers will be next..
|
paulalba | 19 Jul 2015 11:30 a.m. PST |

paulalba | 23 Aug 2015 3:59 a.m. PST |
They look really nice Sho, faces have loads of character. All my troopers horses are now painted on my regiment. Will be a welcome addition to my collection when finished. |
Sho Boki | 23 Aug 2015 4:24 a.m. PST |
They now wait for other troopers (Krakus, Towarczys) with erected lances. All will share the same big mould, thanks to lances they don't fit in small mould. |
