Hang around Deviant Art long enough and you can find anything. The photos are amazing! If you need any inspiration for what color to pain a bug drop by this page and you'll fins something to suit your fancy.

I still remember my sons running to the library years ago, checking-out natural history books with color photos of reptiles and amphibians, and studiously pouring over the volumes as inspiration for painting their Games Workshop Lizardman Army collection.

I wish I'd taken a photo of them to show to my grandchildren.

At least we can point to the Root of all Weevil on that page. Also very cool looking heads on those grasshoppers that are mating.

Some of those Tickle my fancy. Insectoid Aliens do look very Lice with a good paint job.

Shouldn't really call them Bugs, isn't PC, might give them an inferiority complex!!!

Yeah, esp. since bugs suck!

I used similar such images as inspiration for my Night Brood star fighter minis for Silent Death:

Pardon the rough quality of the photos. I hope to shoot a new series featuring the Night Brood ships in detail as soon as we get some clear, sunnier days….
