Fantastic Jozi, and you have no idea how insanely jealous I am that you were able to get Brigade Command on the table before me!

Do you play other 5Core rules? How did you find the base mechanics at this echelon? How long did this game take you? I hope you're going to get more games in soon and post, I'm looking forward to you 'expanding the repertoire' with the scout, HQ, air, arty, maybe some supply?

Thanks for posting.

V/R,
Jack

The 5Core rules are my current favorite for skirmishes.

I found that the basic mechanics work extremely well. Just change some of the wording around the results, as you are dealing with companies and not individuals.

So in my head a 6 on a kill die is not "Killed" but "Combat Ineffective" meaning you have not killed everyone in the company, but caused enough damage so that the unit is out of this engagement. Shock die results would be "disordered" or "Withdraw" etc.

The game took me maybe 45 minutes spread over a couple of days, and was done lengthwise on a 2 x 4 foot board (so a MRR attack on a 2km front if as in he rules 6" = 500 meters)

Next time, I am adding the regimental scout company for the MRR and the battalion scout platoons for the Americans and try some new ATGM stats. Then add supply, artillery, and see how it goes. Thinking about having the MRR artillery group on able, as they would train to fire direct fire in support of the regiment.

I will post what I do, get it out on the table too and let us know how it goes!

I really like them too. I played about ten games of 5 Men in Normandy, and another 20 games of 5Core Company Command. I can't wait to get into this, but I'm still waiting on bases!

I look forward to your next installment.

Jack
