We have just finished 3D drawings of the M5A1 and its variants for Q2/15 releases.
However, we have some design issues with the Kangaroo/Recce regarding the gun ring on top of the turret ring:
In our drawing, we have this raised gun ring, which we think is only available on the T8E1 and not the M5A1. From very limited historical pictures, the Kangaroo/Recce conversion was more improvised, and mostly field upgraded. Any pointers, comments or suggestions? |

Look at the field improvs and pick the one that is easier to produce for you. If this is 15mm and up, miniaturists can change, kitbash or enhance it when they get it. If possible add a series of baggage for that 'gypsy caravan' look. Nicely done! Never enough Stuart mods out there. |

IIRC, there was a factory-produced Stuart Recce/Kangaroo that looked just like that, with the M20-style Scarfe-Ring for the MG. There were any number of Recce/Jalopy/Kangaroo variants. A pretty common one was where the entire rectangular deck section surrounding the turret ring was removed, leaving a large, rectangular open top. |

Not sure, but if you are making the other vehicles, perhaps just produce a standard hull (for the turreted versions), and then a separate gun ring part (raised), that people can glue onto their model, if desired. |

The one at Duxford Imperial War Museum looks like an M5A1 with raised ring

I'm already excited about these vehicles. From late W.W. II to 1970's Africa, the list of uses is endless. |

Love the Kangaroos. Enough perhaps to build a Canadian WWII force just to have an excuse to use them! Doug |
