Has anyone seen a trader list for Salute this year? I could not find any info on the website(Or did I miss it!) I'm buying a couple of advance tickets this week, and just wanted to make sure that the traders I want stuff from will be there. |

I hope the traders have complained to the organisers about the abysmal lighting last year,
"who turned off the lights ?" Did nothing for the attendees and probably even less for the traders. BTW I am not a fan of the "new" location….. |

"who turned off the lights ?" There's nothing the organisers can do about it. It's the standard (mediocre) lighting provided by Excel. Most exhibitions at Excel have additional lighting on the exhibitor stands, the lighting in the hall itself is really only just for setup/takedown purposes. |

Salute is a victim of its own success. They need a venue the size of Excel, the health and safety issues aren't as great as Olympia's and it's within the SLW's budget. Unless a similar sized and priced location which has better lighting becomes available, Excel it is. |

I mentioned the lighting as it just seemed particularly noticeable last year and a number passed comment on the day. It certainly shouldn't be enough of an issue to put people off, but it's always useful to highlight on areas that could be improved ! Having been to most salutes since at least 1981(?) I could make a good stab at all the pros and cons of each previous venue. I certainly have always looked forward to Salute and I think it's excellent for the hobby. Given the scale I doubt there are that many venues in London that could accommodate it. |
