"Some ships in the Star Wars universe were never mentioned for space travel. The T-47 Snowspeeder and the V-wing Airspeeder for example were ships that never left the atmosphere by themselves. Famous video games like Rogue Squadron took place on planetary surfaces and some of the most memorable battles from the movies took place on a planet, rather than above one.
