Do you want your ashigaru armed with tanegashima in shooting poses, advancing poses (tanegashima held at the ready in both hands), or "March Attack" poses (tanegashima on shoulder)?

skipper John02 Feb 2015 2:30 p.m. PST

Shooting! Always shooting!

saltflats192902 Feb 2015 2:33 p.m. PST

Reloading!

Skeptic02 Feb 2015 3:13 p.m. PST

Both reloading and shooting, each in a separate pack!

David Taylor02 Feb 2015 4:10 p.m. PST

I'll cast my vote for shooting and reloading.

Lion in the Stars02 Feb 2015 5:07 p.m. PST

All of the above! Shooting, reloading, at the ready, *and* on the march.

(Uh-oh, Khurasan is after more of my $$ again!)

Don't forget that ashigaru units called teppo-tai were actually mixed formations of firearms and bows in a 3:2 or 4:3 ratio. It was the samurai teppo-tai that were purely armed with firearms.

Actually if you want me to make all of the above, it's you who are after my $$…. :-)

Because each additional style of representation costs more to produce. A lot more. Hence the question.

setsuko03 Feb 2015 10:19 a.m. PST

I like two styles: if possible, either mix standing/kneeling or shooting/reloading. Otherwise, all marching.

Lion in the Stars03 Feb 2015 1:51 p.m. PST

While I know that the Teppo-tai didn't necessarily shoot much, I think I'd prefer shooting and reloading poses over ready or march attack.

khurasanminiatures03 Feb 2015 2:29 p.m. PST

That seems to be the consensus.

cwlinsj06 Feb 2015 12:56 a.m. PST

I'm a 28mm player, but I prefer shooting and marching.

khurasanminiatures07 Feb 2015 1:33 p.m. PST

Hmmm, if I were to do two sets, I think it would be advancing and shooting. You can actually mix those together in a unit. You couldn't with marching and advancing though.

cwlinsj08 Feb 2015 12:53 a.m. PST

Sure you could! Front row advancing with ported arms, and following rows marching with guns on shoulders.

Supercilius Maximus19 Feb 2015 5:33 p.m. PST

I think he meant in a firing line – advancing poses can look like someone either cocking the weapon and/or bringing it up preparatory to firing, or bringing it down and getting ready to re-load after firing. The feet positions don't look out of place either.

Shooting, loading, and fighting in melee with muskets.

-It could happen!

Shooting for the win.

The Last Conformist22 Feb 2015 7:55 a.m. PST

As a general thing, I prefer missile troops in shooting poses.

….I think I'd prefer shooting and reloading poses over ready or march attack.

I'm with Lion on this. I'd like a firing line, so shooting in the front ranks and reloading rifles in the back ranks.
