Hi All

I am leaving tomorrow for a week in New Orleans (from Australia) and wondering if there is a game shop or groups in New Orleans?

Also Id appreciate any advance from fellow gamers on the most worthwhile places to visit in the area.

Thanks!
Fraser

Go-4 Games
701 David Drive
Metairie, LA 70003
(504) 324-8335

Open 7 days a week. Lots of 40K players but also Infinity, Flames of War, Hail Caesar(?), a bewildering variety of card games. Owner Mac Niradorn is a gentleman and a gamer.

+1 Gaming
4201 Veterans Memorial Boulevard,
Metairie, LA 70006
(504) 883-7333

Not as familiar with this store. I believe it caters mostly to card and board game players but there is miniature gaming as well. Owners Jeremy and Allie Henson are very
nice people.

Metairie is a suburb of New Orleans.

Games Workshop
622 South Carrollton Avenue
New Orleans, LA 70118
504) 865-0151

I've only been there twice. The manager, whose name I believe is Matt, seemed like a nice guy. This is the only game store within New Orleans proper.

Things worth seeing:

The National World War II Museum
The Confederate Memorial Hall Museum (a block from the WWII Museum)
The Jackson Barracks Military Museum
Chalmette National Battlefield – a unit of Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve. The Battle of New Orleans was fought there.
The Louisiana State Museum – right in the middle of the French Quarter.

Probably not everything, but a good start.
