I've put the finishing touches on another 12 Great War Miniatures WWI Germans for my Verdun 1916 Project. This time including a MG08/15 team and some nasty looking trench-raiders.

More images and detail, plus some individual close-ups on Scrivsland.

Very nice work. The sharpened spade is especially good.

Minor thing. The MG08/15 was not introduced until after the main fighting in the Battle of Verdun.

I know German trousers in WW1 were piped Red often (and sometimes not!), but I don't know the rule for it.

Thanks for the kind comments. I do have some with red piping. I've not figured out the rule either. The MG08/15 will be used in later games.

Fantastic paint jobs anyway mate :) I really want to get some WW1 Germans one day, but have to finish at least one of my other projects first.

Very nicely done. They look great.

Zoring, any colour quickly disappeared from uniforms.Even the red piped field caps quickly were toned down for field use.
Even in 1915, the fine uniforms of 1914 had disappeared, the field blouse replacing the piped tunic. Some units still had some identity and is a whole subject in itself.
Back to the figures, I very much like the 2 `non standard`models.
