The figures obviously look great, with their unique variety of posing, but they also paint up very nicely. The metal is firm but not brittle, the castings crisp, practically no clean up, the sculpting makes painting easy, and washes work well. You can tell these were made by a *gamer* who loves the period. I think these have usurped GHQ's position as the top dog in the period, and they are only getting better as more variety is added. But, I have to admit I don't know what's going on with a couple of the really small drums! ;) For some reason I thought your greatcoat figures were all in hats – I'll probably be doing Fredericksburg next year, so good to know! Cheers, Christopher |

Hi Christopher, I am currently undergoing a project to place all of the current Union figures in forage caps or kepis as appropriate by branch of service. Starting with the gun crews and frock coats. There are a mix of hats and forage caps with the current great coat line. If you need a custom version with more forage caps, that can be done. I also did not like the size of the first drum, which has been corrected with the latest figs. The one carrying the drum is really the only figure with a diminutive snare.I have a full Fredericksburg board. Too bad you are so far away, you could have borrowed mine. : )

Beautiful game! I really miss my basement … since moving to Helsinki I've had to be creative about space and storage. I can still put on good games, but nothing beats custom made boards. I'm going to be back in the States this summer with the whole family, and I'm hoping to be able to go to Historicon with my son – maybe we'll see you there! Cheers, Christopher |

I shall be there with my Wilson's Creek game. I will be set up as a vendor, sharing a booth again this year with Toby Barrett from Thoroughbred. Please be sure to stop by and introduce yourself. Send me a note and let me know where you will be located. I am relocating to the Atlanta, GA area this spring. Looking forward to finally meeting. |

Good work Bill. I have to agree with Christopher about the ease of painting. I don't know why…but the Cracker Lines paint more quickly than other 10s I have tried. Plus, you know we Western Theater players appreciate the focus! Christopher, I should be in the vendor area, please come say "hi." You added Finland to my reader base! Lovely pics, beautiful figures, I have started ACW in 10mm, Old Glory, and your posts are a true inspiration. |

@ACWGamer – sure, I hope we can meet! It's funny how the hobby goes in phases. When I was in the States (a decade ago, yikes!) and regularly attending conventions, I was deep into Napoleonics and Colonials, an now it's ACW and a fledgling interest in Late Rome and the Dark Ages. Cheers, Christopher |

Now that you're moving back, my money's on the Russo-Finnish War as your next project. : ) |

Ha! Not moving back yet, just spending the summer. I'll make my way back eventually though. |
