We had hoped that we would be announcing our new venture at this time – a new type of show to be staged at the Battleground Show venue in Stockton on Tees in July 2015 – but we have been unable to attract sufficient traders to make our proposed show financially viable and in addition the time needed to organize it has run out. Since we believe that our proposed show is the future of shows of this size we intend to try again to organise the show in Stockton in July 2016 – so watch old and new hobby media as well as our website – teesshows.co.uk – for more details later in the year. What was so new about your show? |

We intended to do the following: 1) Wargames would use the "Hammerhead" approach – with successful participants being entered into a prize draw. 2) "Hands On" model kit making under the guiding eyes of local model club members – giving the participant something to take home. 3) Displays by as many re-enactment groups we can find covering as many periods as possible. 4) Liaison with Stockton Council's Education Department to attract children in the age range 9 to 13 – possibly using "Project Airfix" with kits being judged on show day and the winner receiving a trophy. 5) Use of social media to attract participants – such as hobby forums, LinkedIn, YouTube, local media and possibly Twitter. There would also be advertising in hobby magazines and perhaps a magazine article. 6) A dedicated show Facebook page. 7) The venue – which is also used by the Battleground show – is new, spacious and well lit. There is also ample free car parking. 8) All proceeds would be donated to the Royal British Legion. Taken together the above would produce a show that is completely different from any of the other 40 (yes 40) shows we have produced in the last 33 years. David and Tom |

Sorry to hear about your postponement. 40 shows is a tremendous achievement. Good luck with organising your venture for 2016. |
