Ah, Essex; what would they be without those ridiculous poses (including the inevitable firing at the 'splits' and silly runner). Packs one and two are at least useful – but that's where the loading figures should also have been. It makes no sense from a unit construction perspective to mix static and active figures in the same pack, and given their standard defensive tactics, running Boers are just a waste of design time and energy anyway (except perhaps as morale failure markers – which might be the only way to justify buying those loading figures). They are, as usual, nicely sculpted though. |
