Repainted and restored another set of Old O-scale Plasticville buildings. The town is growing. I am moving on now to the town hall and Library. Getting closer to the houses…but I have some factories to make. A beef jerky manufacturer plant and a Beer Brewery. Down there in Georgia where the zombies be.

But I still have 8 large story buildings to weather…never ending. I think I have close to 30 buildings when all said and done.

Excellent work, I'm very jealous. grin thumbs up

I notice, in one of your pictures, you have one of those damn pigtail bulbs in your table lamp. How are they for painting? I'm concerned they will effect the color you see as you're painting and once you get them in "normal" light the results will be significantly different than what you were expecting.

HHHmmmmmmmmmmmm beer, look forward to some more buildings soon

Thanks to all.

The light bulbs work ok for me. The problem is that we have all of those soft white lights everywhere in the house. I need to change them out, they are not that bright. But they still work. Most of my weathering comes out dark anyway, so its no big deal. But when I start painting minis, I will definitely change the bulbs out. But those are the soft white ones, which suck.

Priming the next set now of buildings. My goal is to be done by July or August. That includes minis. Also have a bunch of vehicles to weather up. Then there is the chain link fences I keep thinking about…or and street signs…and I am sure there will be something else.

Those came out well, especially the roofs. In an earlier post you mentioned your dislike of the Plasticville "stucco effect". I was thinking about that and wondered if sanding the walls would help or even be possible.

Thank you.
I guess you could sand them, but it would take a lot of sanding. But they are not that bad once you weather them up. In a way, it helps the weathering because there is some detail, instead of just a smooth wall. I usually just brick over them.

As far as the roof, I sprayed it black. I was just going to go lightly over it with the rusty red, but then I just kept going, it turned out better than I expected.

Those look great! You have 30 or so buildings!? Wow! Your table is going to look Awesome when your done I can't wait to see the end results!

Do you have plans or layouts for your streets and alleys?

darclegion05 Feb 2015 8:21 a.m. PST

War Monkey,
I have a whole container of streets made of foam, painted, etc. I also have a large urban game mat with streets on it as well. As far as sidewalks go, I can use these square wooden tiles I have that are grey, that work perfect. I also have about 14 street lights that I have to make.

Tom,

Those building look great. I have those buildings waiting for me. I'm gonna use your buildings as inspiration.

One thought though, the signs, shouldn't they say something like "Plasticville Police" or "Plasticville Engine Co #1"?

Look forward to more buildings, Xin
