I'm kicking-off 2015 by completing the 3rd Battalion of the 36th Jäger Regiment as part of my long-running project to create the 7th Infantry Division at Borodino. Figures are Wargames Foundry, sculpted by Alan Perry. Minor figure conversion to ammunition pouches, numerals free-handed; pompon and swordknot scheme based on contemporary Russian sources (rather than Viskovatov).

Those numbers on the pouches………Photoshop. Not possible this . I chose my regiments to make such things easier. 1 Cuirassiers, 4 lancers, 7 anything, 11 a cinch. But once you get to 2,3,6,9…..my OOO brush just creates a splodge…. The two officers' faces….so much to admire here |

I have been meaning to ask this since the 200th anniversary, as I see your jagers are wearing dark green trousers as prescribed in "winter dress." This dress begins in September, as Borodino took place Sept. 7th, so it makes sense. However, I have seen depiction of the battle where jagers are in summer dress (white trousers), in painting and war gaming units. So,is there hard evidence jagers did in fact wear green trousers during this battle, after all, it is only in the 7th of September? Otherwise, in preparation for the battle, all jagers needed to have their green trousers clean on August 31st. Thanks, ilodic. |

I've seen contemporary and later 19th Century paintings and prints showing both colours of trousers, so I made my own decision for gaming purposes. |

they look fantastic, maybe for the next unit – get one or two in with the grey conscription uniform. |

Just noticed these. Exemplary brush work – am convinced they are 54mm and you are just having a lend of us! :) Superb basing as well. I love how you have not landscaped right to the edge of each base. Eye is immediately drawn to the figs. Clever stuff. |
