Does anyone have anything positive to say about the forces of the British Union of Fascists (BUF) war game army?

It seems to be the default bad guy army of the VBCW concept. Is that justified?

(I know it's a game and one can choose whatever path one likes to proceed along, I just think it is all quite interesting)

They will make the trains run on time…

Remarkably efficient. Impeccable taste in sharp suits. Everything goes with black.

There, three wonderful things about fascists – on top of trains being always on time!

Ryan T30 Jan 2015 7:18 p.m. PST

No, the trains will not necessarily run on time. It's just that nobody will dare complain that they are late.

Hey are you the same Ryan Toews that wrote the GHQ Canada supplement?

dualer31 Jan 2015 1:07 a.m. PST

I rather tend to think of my BUF as the forces of law and order!

Frostie31 Jan 2015 7:26 a.m. PST

Discipline, martial prowess and smart uniforms!

Whenever I think of the BUF I am reminded of Roderick Spode and his Black Shorts.

Whenever I think of the BUF I think of a bunch of thugs, led by a political maverick, routed by the East End on Brick Lane

The Remains of the Day, by Kazuo Ishigura, is an excellent novel and its protagonist is a loyal servant of a Mosleyite aristocrat. It's worth reading to get a peek inside the head of someone who sympathised with the brutes whilst themselves not being absolutely bad.

Hello Halifax49,

Yes, guilty as charged. Its been 12 years now, but it was a very interesting project.

BUF are a rather surprisingly well equipped and well motived force but lack any real combat experience. However I wouldnt for them as the default baddies as all factions are the baddies to each other and they cant be bad as the King likes them

That's two steps up from "Sodomy, Rum, and the Lash"! Sorry, that was Royal Navy, wasn't it?
