I see you listed standard edition of Fire and Fury, but not the Fire and Fury Regimental version of the rules. |
nnascati | 30 Jan 2015 1:19 p.m. PST |
There is a published Sword and Flame variant, "Gleam of Bayonets" I believe, and I think a dedicated Two Hour Wargames ACW set. |
SgtPain | 30 Jan 2015 1:23 p.m. PST |
Another set of rules you may want to consider adding, is Volly and Baynonet, although it is "generic" horse and musket based rule system, I believe they came out with a number of supplements for the Civil War. |
zippyfusenet | 30 Jan 2015 1:28 p.m. PST |
What, no American Uncivil War? There's also a Sword and the Flame variant, The Sword and the Hardtack. |

Rifle Wars, by the same author as Napoleonic Command, Jeff Knudsen (WarArtisan here on TMP). Like NapCom, an innovative and elegant take on the war. |

Fire & Fury Regimental is under R, and it't there. Volley & Bayonet goes in my Horse & Musket Category. I'll add Rifle Wars…. |

Got it – this list is for ACW specific (BP is in with Volley & Bayonet, Bloody Big Battles and other more general rules sets). |

I've heard tales of individuals using They Died for Glory for the ACW. Not that I condone such behavior mind you… |
Trajanus | 30 Jan 2015 4:17 p.m. PST |
EC, You have Birth of a Nation down twice, no Iron Brigade 1st Edition and Polemos is really two different sets – On They Came and Crisis of Allegiance |
ColCampbell | 30 Jan 2015 4:30 p.m. PST |
The Sergeants3 (Larry Brom) ACW rules are called "A Glint of Bayonets." There is also a fast play convention rule set by Larry called "Bring Up the Guns." sergeants3.com/19.html And there is a "The Sword and the Flame" variant called "The Sword and Secession." [Not the "Sword and Hardtack" as Zippy said, above.] sergeants3.com/18.html (last item listed) Jim |

Ps. You clearly do not have a problem :) |

@Trajanus: There are two different rule sets called Birth of A Nation, but good eyes! And yes I should probably list Polemos as two separate. @ColCampbell: I added the two Brom titles to my list. |
Extra Crispy | 30 Jan 2015 5:00 p.m. PST |
@VonTed: Clearly not. Makes me wonder why you even thought to comment. |

There is an ACW variant available for the DBN Napoleonic rules. I think it's only available in PDF. Back in the 80s, if I remember correctly, there was also a set of ACW rules published by a company that painted miniatures on commission. (And they were very well-painted too; a buddy of mine and I bought some samples and were very pleased.) Was the company called Atalair? They advertised in The Courier. Sorry for the sketchy information. I can't remember the name of those ACW rules to save my life. |

I have 61-65, not sure why it isn't there. DBACW is the variant and it is listed. By the Left Flank I'll have to add to the list. |

I couldn't help but notice you've not included any of the ACW Naval rules……. |

Are you including Civil War chapters in collections or compendiums of rules? If so, Neil Thomas has a chapter in his "Introduction" book, for example. And there's the Airfix Magazine Guide no. 24, Terence Wise's "American Civil War Wargaming." And, what VonTed said. I salute you, sir! |

@Frank: No, those get a separate category for multi-period rules like Black Powder. Did the Airfix guide have actual rules in it or just painting tips etc.? @79thPA: Thanks! |
Richard Humm | 31 Jan 2015 11:41 a.m. PST |
The Airfix Magazine Guide did have rules, but they were later reissued as the Athena set you have. |
Trajanus | 31 Jan 2015 12:58 p.m. PST |
There are two different rule sets called Birth of A Nation Is one of them the silent version? |
Frank the Arkie | 01 Feb 2015 5:04 p.m. PST |
The Airfix guide does have a set of rules – as Richard mentions, but I didn't know about subsequent publication. |
