Both present AND future. And the solution is so incredibly simple too!!! I wish I had come up with it. YouTube link That Babylon 5 episode (Voices of Authority) aired back in 1996. So be happy. Rename everything! QUESTION: I can't find any reruns on TV or via Netflix or Hulu. How about you guys? Dan |

Great series! One of my all-time favorite science fiction series, Unfortunately, I don't know if it's still being aired anywhere at this time. I have it on DVD of course, and I still think it's available on that format. |

Still on dvd. Quite cheap. They said we'll never get a blue ray version due to technical issues and cost. Good news (?) Is that JMS is rebooting B5 from the beginning. |

Rebooting? But WHY? I'm not sure that a rebooted B5 would work. The original was very much a product of the times within which it was made. |

Well, the original B5 was written as a 5yr overall story arc, and it got hacked to death between 3rd and 4th to try to wrap things up in the 4th season… But then the ratings came in and got the 5th season approved. Shame that some senior executive at Fox hates scifi with a burning passion. (I hope he's retired now, it's been 20 years since B5) |

I'll believe more B5 (reboot or continuation) when I see it on the TV or at the movies. Too many false starts with this one. A reboot with changes for modern times would be nice, would not need to be many though since a lot of what was shown was timeless and some of it actually matched the post 9/11 world better then the world of the nineties. |

Wow the leaders of the western world must all be B5 fans as they all use those very same tactics. |

Susan Ivanova: "Who am I? I am Susan Ivanova, Commander. Daughter of Andre and Sophie Ivanov. I am the right hand of vengeance and the boot that is going to kick your sorry ass all the way back to Earth, sweetheart! I am death incarnate, and the last living thing that you will ever see. God sent me." Best. Quote. Ever. YouTube link |

Actually that episode of B5 is still valid even today. It's something politicians have been doing for a very long time, but I shouldn't want to bring the ugliness politics into this. I have the series on DVD, but I find it strange you can only find it on Amazon when every other sci-fi series is on Netflix or Hulu. Babylon 5 seems to get ignored because it's too relevant to our times. Greatest quotes from sci-fi or any TV series ever. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry we had to defend ourselves against an unwarranted attack. I'm sorry your crew was stupid enough to fire upon an installation of a quarter of a million citizens including your own people. And I'm sorry I waited as long as I did before I sent them all straight to hell." -Sheridan's apology he never gave for destroying a Centauri cruiser that fired on the station. |
