I should also say that we have started a set of videos to help explain the PBI rules. Find it on the PP website.

Has the basing changed?

Thanks for the support. No change to basing. The companies are about the same size too.

Excellent news about the videos. I really really tried to learn this game at least 3 times but always gave up.

Dale Hurtt30 Jan 2015 3:32 p.m. PST

Yes, I should not have said basing. What I meant was are rifles still three figures to a base, MGs two figures to a base, etc.?

The videos are a good idea – enjoyed, thank you.

Ordered -can't wait!!!
Big fan of Bayonet and Ideology too.

And arrived this morning -wow!!!
(I do have a copy of the very, very first PBI -the game has been 'upped' more than somewhat since then!)
OK so I open up the company book -very comprehensive and oh look Korean War lists- excellent.

Turning my attention to the rules themselves I find that an act of genius has taken place.

Bloke:"How much will I enjoy reading through these rules and understanding them?"
Other bloke: "A lot -here come the girls…"

PP address the fourth wall with aplomb, style and tongue firmly in cheek.
I salute you Mr Goddard.

The pregame is easier in the new edition. Terrain is more varied than simply open, partial and closed…..there are separate effects on movement and line of sight.

A lot of things that can be ignored during a learning game are clearly marked with simple alternatives (or simply to be discarded).

Fundamentally the rules are written so so much better the the previous edition….the rules are clearer, a number of minor things are made easier, a lot more and clear examples of play given to help so it makes it so much easier to learn the game from the book….things are basically where you expect them to be rather than having to hunt down specifics in too many other locations

I have an earlier version of the rules and liked the idea of the "squares" of terrain, but never did get to play them.

What does this new version do differently than the last version??
