After watching Khartoum on the 130th anniversary of it's fall to the Mahdists, I am excited to try out a TSATF game based on the fight among the stones between the Egyptian infantry and the Mahdist cavalry. I will be limited by what's in my collection, but I think 3 Egyptian platoons plus one mounted unit vs as much native cavalry as I can muster, probably 60 men and horses (including my Pathan cav).
Has anyone else gamed this? It seems like it could be a fun game.

Nick -- will you be doing this in 54mm or 28mm?

25mm. I have a decent collection of Ral Parthas. I know they are old school. But they are painted and I can play with them *now*.

Ral Partha may be "old school" but they are still great figures and make up much of my Colonial forces.

And they are still available: link

Good luck with your game and don't forget to give us a report.

Sounds like a great idea. No skulking and ambush stuff here. Seems like it would get right into melee on the first turn.

Sounds like a great idea for a scenario. I plan on watching 'Khartoum' on Sunday instead of the Super Bore. I'd love to see picks of your game. I've always liked Ral Partha Colonial figures.
