So a BRDM with side doors…

Spall-liners would also be appreciated by the crews..

But side doors are actually excellent feature (and AFAIK, the cross-country middle wheels were second to useless), making it more capable of casevacing incapacitated troops under light/sporadic fire circumstances or carrying small dismounts. Not to mention, for the crew when leaving vehicle under fire.
