To support the Vornid infantry forces a bio gun platform strides into battle atop leg-roots -- the Vornid war-pod! Here's a sneak peek along with some Vornid troopers and … what's that on the right? Could it be a Vorhound, hunting plant-dogs that often accompany Vornid Raiders in great numbers … ? The war-pod will have two different varieties of deck gun, one of which is shown here. These models painted by the elusive Spacejacker!

I should do one in black and call it the Black Dahlia. By the way, the Vornids also have a huge raider/slaver grav-galley with root-tentacles hanging down to grab fleeing villagers on primitive worlds! Never released, but that's what the deck gunners were originally made for. Every once in a while I get it in my head to get one cast up in case anyone is mad enough to buy one! |

I should do one in black and call it the Black Dahlia. Crickies! Where's that thumbs up icon? Oh, wait, then someone has to make a hulked version. *shudder* …in case anyone is mad enough to buy one! We see through your taunting manner, your attempt to sucker us in! *must be strong, must be strong* Doug |

I recently purchased your Vornid figures. These will be added to the ones I currently have. Thank you for a range that is not "the man in the rubber suit." |

Any idea when the full store will be back so we can get these awesome toys? |
SpaceJacker | 30 Jan 2015 3:42 a.m. PST |
Thanks for the kind words, TMPers! Vornids are *really* easy to paint… And rather luckily I did a blog post about a really fast way to get them done way back when! Unusual because I don't often have the patience to do tutorials, but it was an experimental attempt at under-shading. link The Walker was a little out of my comfort zone, but just took a little time. It's mainly just a strong tone wash and careful 3-stage layering. Kudos to Khurasan for an unending flow of top quality sci-fi in 15mm! |

Any idea when the full store will be back so we can get these awesome toys? Actually, recently things have taken a turn for the better, and I'm hoping to have the store back up and open early next week. Getting my stock accessible again depended on getting several large steel industrial shelving units put up, and those arrived last week from ULine with pieces missing so they couldn't be assembled. Got the spare pieces yesterday, and, although I am a bit ill ATM, started assembling them last night. Was already able to pack a few outstanding orders because I once again had access to some stock. Thanks again for a splendid job Spacejacker! I know you don't like painting vehicles, but the pod looks fantastic. |

Jon, These are great. How about a picture of that slaver galley no one will want to buy! And here be the elusive Space Jacker. Nice work Jacker as usual. |

It's actually in the caster's hands. I think! I'm not even sure where everything is these days. Part of the problem with order fulfillment (and storage of masters) has been that my stock storage has not grown with the company and as a result it was often stored inconveniently -- box with the Felids stacked under the box with the space demon ancillary models, which in turn was under the box with the space demon main troops choices. So getting every pack became a major exercise. And I not infrequently get orders for one each of 40 different codes -- you can imagine how long those took to pack! It grew to the point where it was just about completely unmanageable, but that also meant dealing with it would be a monumental task. So I put off dealing with it. Until we were having contractors in to do some major work on a few rooms in the house -- I had to be home anyway so I decided to just take it on. It's not been blissful but things are finally taking shape and I'm so relieved to see my stock now much easier to access. Hopefully this weekend will see it done, then catchup on the longest delayed orders, then I'm back with a bunch of new items -- including these. |

Don't like it, it's too plain. Like most of the other Vornid stuff though. |
Heinz Good Aryan | 30 Jan 2015 10:00 a.m. PST |
looks fine to me, and can be dolled up with plant parts and so on. lol! |
khurasanminiatures | 30 Jan 2015 10:27 a.m. PST |
The thought was that as plant parts get larger and more solid, they becomes a bit less "gribbly" …
I think the solid-shell look of large plants gives the war-pod more of a look of a well-protected craft. It's sort of a botanical armoured vehicle! |

That is so unique and great of a concept!, great painting and great miniatures, one thing I have always loved about khurasan the uniqueness and originality they have almost any 15mm miniature I could think of in their store , well almost ;). great work , please do never stop!. |

The detail on the legs is cast, I just washed and highlighted it. |

Just another Saturday on TMP…. Thanks for clearing that up SpaceJacker. Of course if people want their warpods greeblier its the perfect canvas for terraining add-ons etc. Thanks Underfire -- the aliens are really a labour of love as human sci-fi always vastly outsells them, and the best selling aliens are humanoid aliens. |
