We have seen some of these unpainted, but now it is nice to see how they can turn out! Also added is the "frozen meat" range, the unfortunates who will add to any diorama (which must be getting very crowded now). They are terrific and "different". Will we get frozen British troops for the War of Intervention next?

Terrific stuff! I'm getting the lot of it.

Still missing – Partisan personalities and heroes. (Davidov, Vasilisa, and brace yourself for this one, Arkhipov Semen. Yes, I chuckled at that quite a bit.)

Russians skirmishing in greatcoats and shakos.

Beautiful figures -- but can you actually use them in a game? Or are they primarily decorative / eye-candy / diorama subjects?

This is one of those lines (for me) that is so depressing that I wouldn't be able to place them on a tabletop. I know others would differ, and I don't begrudge them that.

Nice figures but I agree with dBerczerk. Very little use in a game.

Casualty markers? Looting markers? Scenario builders? I'll accept they are best for skirmish games. But useless goes way too far.

I game with 1/72, but buy these as they are just really nice figures, and I guess it is my small "supporting contribution" to the Perry Brothers who have risked making these models. yes, they won't sell in the same numbers as a line infantryman, but I salute them for their efforts.

Oh, and nostalgia alert – they remind me of those old "Tradition" adverts at the back of Military Modelling late 70's/early 80's – "Retreat from Moscow".

Where I will go with them, I don't know yet – maybe a very ragged "campaign dress" battalion grin

I do know what JCBJCB means and, when the range first appeared I commented here that maybe such events are not suitable for games. Folk responded that many a good skirmish could be fought, you just have to overlook the starvation, frostbite and civilian suffering.

Indeed the figures shown above are more for diorama builders than wargamers I would imagine. They are wonderfully cast and show much imagination. We all use the bodies and wounded to liven up our bases, but even then we are little bit squeamish. You do not usually see figures blown in half, heads smashed to pulp, horses eviscerated. The two seated remind me of the final scene of Stalingrad (just bought on Blu Ray in original German language….brilliant)
