link Hit the link above for a quick pdf summarizing the new armor rules. Feel free to share this – it can't be played without the rest of the book and shows what we are doing with Fightin' Fungi. |

Clarifications: there is a mistake in the table – a shield bonus is negated by the 2nd attack, not third. This pdf was put together very quickly. I will expand it in the book. We are speaking of Simultaneous attacks here, so that if a player surrounds you he is "forced" attack with all of them, solving all attacks in one go, in order to negate the shield bonus. I do not want to keep track of attacks throughout the turn. It may be difficult to do with missile attacks though. We are still playtesting it so maybe a flat +1 to Combat (+2 if shielded AND protected) AFTER you lose a Combat may be the way to go. The idea is that it saves you from being tripled or doubled but does not help you to kill the opponent. But I have to see how it interacts with other rules that apply a bonus after the roll. |

I think this might be a mistake to implement. There are no weapon or armour rules in the game for ease of play. Adding them might take us down the road leading to increased complexity and rules creep. |

Cmdr kevin, people have different tastes so I'm trying to do something for everybody. The core book will remain simple, with everything abstracted into two numbers. If you do not want the extra complexity, just use the core book. The supplements, or variants like Fightin' Fungi currently on kickstater ( link ) , will add modular new rules for weapons, spells, and armor. You are free to adopt a few or all of them into your games. Like this, the game remains "supported" ( meaning that there is new material available for it ) but those in love with the original simplicity will not be forced to adopt a "new edition". Play as you want! |

I actually like the idea of Heavy Armor in regular SBH becoming +1 to combat after losing. It makes it much more useful and for some reason seems easier to remember (but that might just be me). |
