This company's figures are not at all well known in the USA. They are the only manufacturer I know of that currently makes Prussian Grenadiers with the tall plumes in 28mm (yeah, I know they didn't wear them in the field, but I could care less about that – without them, they are barely distinguishable from the Line), so I took advantage of their sale (ends soon – Jan 31st) to get some of those along with some Landwehr. The pictures on their site are frankly pretty bad, and the sculpts are actually quite nice, so I posted some pics of the raw lead to my blog. Painted ones should follow in a few months.

Thanks for posting Gonsalvo. I'd be interested in the Grenadiers myself. |

I reckon that these have an old school charm. I like them. |

They make some nice figures. One of my favourites was 15 mm Austrian Napoleonic Chevau levers. The pose was excellent…..pricing is attractive as well. |

Great post on a fabulous unit Gonsalvo (love your use of tongue depressors!). You are right the photos on the Lancashire web site do not appear to show their figures in the best light (some IMO are off putting even) so it is good to see photos giving a clear depiction – and which are far more flattering. I wondered whether it could really be the case that only one manufacturer produced these splendid Prussian Grenadiers with their exhilarating bosche (sp?) plumes. I discovered that Eagle produced a set, so spurred on by your post I bought a unit and will post a thread on their arrival (not sure when they will arrive here in Australia though). Like you I prefer a piece of sublime historical inaccuracy over campaign dress realism when it comes to this uniform! The horses look well proportioned, which for me is a draw card (I struggle with some sculpts). Look forward to the painted version post. |

Glad you fond it helpful, and glad to hear that Eagle makes some be-plumed Grenadiers as well – another company that isn't very well known! |

Hinchliffe (sp?) used to make them, and Minifigs |

Yes MTPF remember in the 70s pouring over mini figs 25mm catalogue and wondering how on earth they could fight with such head gear (did not know much about campaign dress then), and not having the resources to buy Prussians or other units I wanted. Now have more resources but little time, which I seemed to have in abundance back then! |

+1 to that Elba – where did our time go? |

I have a unit of the Minifigs painted up as the Prussian Guard – don't know if they are still obtainable?! |

It went into a big black hole and is not coming out again (!). My youngest is showing some interest though, which is a kind of compensation. Now if I can only persuade him to look past World of Tanks and Warhammer… |

Sorry Gonsalvo – was belatedly responding to MTPF as to where the time went! Is it Cavalier Books that now deal in Minifigs, or is the company still independently active? |

Hi, Take me back to Elba is correct Eagle Figures do produce Prussian Grenadiers with plumes. I have posted a link below to a Prussian Grenadier Ensign with plume. I produce a full set of command as well as the Grenadiers with plume. I hope you like them. link Cheers Ian |
