I just received my order from Grand Manner. Within a short time the product was shipped and I must say their packaging is second to none. It's a job just unpackaging everything but so far no breakage.
I'm hoping the pound keeps dropping…

Agreed Long Valley Gamer.

I have received four orders from Dave now and the items are so carefully packaged that there is between little or no chance of breakage.

Aside from the polystyrene filler in the box, the bubble wrap layer and tape around the items themselves are repeated at least twice.

The thing I like most about Grand Manner are the unexpected features when one lifts off the roof – fireplaces, wooden floorboards and staircases etc. I don't know if these are standard for all their models, but they are superb.

How expensive is the postage to the USA?

Expensive! If you do an order on their site you can see what the shipping would be before actually placing the order. You need a decent sized order for the shipping to be even palatable.
Also the way they carefully pack each item makes for the need of alot of extra room in the box. I took advantage of their 20% off sale at the end of last year which softened the blow.
A very well run company

Thanks. They have really nice stuff, though. I often wondered whether it wasn't better to order stuff timed with a visit over there, and pack my purchases in an extra trunk or something.

I agree, Dave's 28mm products are outstanding and the packaging is the best I've received containing resin products from the UK to US. I also save up for an order (more than 25 buildings and wall sets to date in four shipments) to make the shipping costs more palatable, but they are still pretty steep. But in my opinion nothing beats a well-painted and weathered Grand Manner building on a 28mm scale terrain board.

Rwp, not sure if thats a great idea. With the airlines policies you would be paying for an extra suitcase. You would have to pack the pieces yourself also. After all is said and done the savings wouldn't equal the hassle.
