I picked up the Star Wars: Imperial Assault board game and have painted the first model. Many more will see my paint table in the future.

I primed the model in black, dry brushed dark grey, then light grey, and picked out a few details with some color to break up the grey a bit.

Next up on my painting table is another probe droid and a group of 3 storm troopers.

I'm not 100% sure what to do with the base. I'll probably do some dirt/gravel with a bit of greenery.

I will post updates here and on my blog as I finish more models. link

Excellent! I would be proud to have that droid report what I am up to to the Emperor!

But would you let it probe you?

Guild Painting Service posted some nice pics on Facebook of Imperial Assault minis today. I received my copy of the game this a.m. and between Guild and sean68333 I'm primed to paint.

I am somewhat tempted by the game. How does it play?

It's Descent 2.5 with skirmish rules. Click on Reviews in the BGG Forum: link

I agree with ced1106; it is a spin off of Descent 2 with a few different things. It has a pretty short learning curve and after playing through the training scenario, I haven't had anyone with problems understanding the basic mechanics.

I think you will end up with the heroes having lots of different options as they level up and that might be a bit for some to handle, but they should be learning and growing with the characters so I don't think it will be too bad.

Next up is one of the Storm Trooper models.

I tried a painting style new to me and am not certain I like it, but it is growing on me. It doesn't look great up close, but on the board it looks pretty good.

I've been working on other paint project and haven't really put much time into these models. However, I needed a break from my Epic 40K projects and decided to pull a few of these out of the box and put some paint on them.

Simple paint jobs, but I think they still look pretty good.

The wookie looks good!

I'd push a brighter highlight on the red masks, to try to make the mask look like a different material than the robe.
