I am starting a new project to get my old miifigs based up to use Featherstone's H&M rules. My ultimate goal is to fight Quatre Bras on a stylized scale. link

Going full circle (back to Featherstone), I like that idea and agree that something easy, playable and fun is a good place to be and is gaining wider appreciation.

Not sure how much you like your painted figures 38 years on (my painting was bad – though marvellous to my 'then' unspoilt eye), but I have seen some people using something like army painter 'dip' to revive old figures brought on the bring and buy stall – it seems to offer the ideal quick 'makeover'.

My Minifigs are not the minifigs you can get now that is for sure! Dips and washes probably won't add much. One thing I've found over the years while trying various methods of shading etc is that the more detail you paint on, the better the figure looks. 15mm does not really need to be shaded necessarily. You can get a respectable looking figure by simply painting all the details and using many colors. Block painted figures look just fine from 3 feet away. Also, for full disclosure, I've since repainted many of my figures with correct colors. Back then I used what I had. The style is still the same but the uniforms look considerably better now. grin

Have you any pics of your figures? I've a fair number of old Minifigs in 25mm.

As I build the order of battles for the various combatants, I'll try to post a few pics.

Which of Dons H&M rules are you going to use.

There is the generic version from the War Game or the Napoleonic ones from the old wargame Newsletter days and now available again in the book 'Lost Tales'

He had a very abbreviated version in his Peninsular Campaigns book as well.

It is the skeleton of my own rules. Very clean. Just added a set of command control rules using pips and divisional orders and I am really happy.

Hi

Would love to see how this develops – in particular whether the rules will handle a medium sized battle in good time.
Please post some AAR's with your mod's to the rules.

I am using ones from The Wargame. I have my won morale table similar to that from Fire and Fury but with a D6. It will handle general morale results from casualties and results for charging and being charged.

Please post some AAR's with your mod's to the rules.

My friend wants to get a game in toward the end of the month. I'll take a few photos and post an AAR.

As well, I'll post my modified version after we've banged out a few games and the majority of the glitches.
