So an academic paper sourced from Wikileaks, what could be wrong with this?

darthfozzywig26 Jan 2015 6:05 p.m. PST

Look, it's not that we want Nazis in Antarctica, it's just that we can't go on with ours heads in the sand on this issue.

I'm sorry, is that a need we were having?

+1
Came to say this.
It's like that old saying "pretending it's solid doesn't fill the hollow Earth".

It's not a great saying, but it certainly applies here.

War Monkey26 Jan 2015 6:47 p.m. PST

Could it be that this was feed to Wikileaks as a form of disinformtion?

I'm just asking a question, but how or who did they come across to leak this?

cosmicbank26 Jan 2015 7:05 p.m. PST

Have u noticed the government is silent on this issue…..

privateer Fezian26 Jan 2015 7:27 p.m. PST

I remember when this was published and a friend at the University here sent it to me because of my interest in Military History and New Zealand's Antarctic Research. This was first published in 2007. You can go to link which is the doi for the article in the Journal Polar Record, A Journal of Arctic and Antarctic Research. Its good to see that wikileaks are now republishing pre-published journal articles it may give them new life and an audience that would not normally get to see them

If they are on the moon, how can they not have a secret base in Antarctica?

darthfozzywig26 Jan 2015 8:05 p.m. PST

Seriously. Where else did they launch from?

tsofian26 Jan 2015 8:20 p.m. PST

I didn't say everyone "needed" them, I strictly said this was for anyone that "wanted" them. If you choose to take umbrage at the term I feel it can only mean you are certainly part of the vast conspiracy attempting to silence those who raise the warning cry before it is too late!

capncarp26 Jan 2015 10:23 p.m. PST

Yeah, sure, I'd like them in Antarctica--naked, wet, and 100 miles from any shelter or clothing.

khurasanminiatures26 Jan 2015 11:02 p.m. PST

By the way, pretty sure Agis N.'s space demons were painted/based for a nazis in Antarctica background:

Makes a lot of sense in a Yin-Yang world, where the Russians are in the Arctic, so, it only follows the Nazis are in the Antarctic, right!

B6GOBOS27 Jan 2015 6:27 a.m. PST

Iron sky 2

Henry Martini27 Jan 2015 6:55 a.m. PST

The War is a long time gone, and I hear that the only way those polar Nazis could keep their nefarious schemes alive was to go Zombie. There's a movie in the works: 'Dead Iron Snow'.

Was just going to say, like we want them ANYWHERE else?

Ah, Jon, good point. Maybe Iron Sky meets AvP?

@Henry Martini And the mashups just keep rolling on!

Maybe Iron Sky meets AvP?

Couldn't be any worse than either of the originals…

The paper makes a compelling case that the Nazi base never existed. Clearly a well-thought-out cover-up!

The SAS raid would be pretty cool to game…

Zephyr127 Jan 2015 3:35 p.m. PST

There are no more Nazis in Antarctica; Ninja penguins killed them all…

Isn't Paolo Parente's DUST universe set in Antarctica?

War Monkey27 Jan 2015 4:17 p.m. PST

I have an idea to settle this once and for all!

We all pitch in some cash to launch our own investigation of this topic.

Those who volunteer report in every 8 hours and our fearless Editor will roll a die for the results on a chart that we here on TMP come up with and the group carries out as their next action!

Until we have a finial answer to this!

Who is with me I think I have a dollar around here some where to get things rolling!

Col Durnford28 Jan 2015 6:31 a.m. PST

I just hope the History Channel (sp) folks don't read this.

Cyrus the Great28 Jan 2015 10:20 a.m. PST

The truth is out there!

Coelacanth193828 Jan 2015 10:42 p.m. PST

I don't mind there being Nazis in Antarctica. I just don't want them to have any heat,

War Monkey29 Jan 2015 4:47 p.m. PST

Rebel Minis has that Secret Nazi base on his site that can fit the bill for those who may wish to play out such a game! :D

Jemima Fawr29 Jan 2015 5:21 p.m. PST

Of course there are Nazis in Antarctica. They even have a wiki page:

thehawk31 Jan 2015 12:33 a.m. PST

So why are the Chinese currently looking for the base?
