Hello again

Next issue is my flight stands I bought from corsec engineering, 2 inch base telescoping magnet rod. The stands look awesome, an love them but issue is when you extend them out to 7 or even 5 segments, they become unstable especially with a HE-111 or decent size planes on the stand, an then its timber an well you get the rest. Wondering if anyone has had this issue an solved it? I have used metal washers to help support the base more but takes away from the look of a clean base. Tried to figure out if you could make metal or lead bases but had no luck. Called a metal shop an it was going to be way to expensive to have them made. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. I really lke the telescoping rods gives the difference in height an look on the gaming table.

3" bases are required, if you extend them that high, unless you add weights.

Even 2.5" bases are unstable at height, due to the weight of the antennae.

If you want to add a lot of weight to the bottom (it'll make them ugly), add big, steel, hexnuts to them.

When making future ones, skip the bases, and just use steel hexnuts for that, and insert the antennae through the middle. You'll need to fill up the interior a bit with epoxy, or other material.

I sell 3", 4", and 5" based Topgun, Dogfight Flight Stands, which work well with 1/300th – 1/72nd scale models and minis. They have clear bases, so you can see the terrain underneath.

Generally, I prefer the 4" bases, for the added residual stability they provide. They're even stable enough to be able to use the Titanium, diecast metal spacefighters with them, from the Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica ranges.

As you can see, the swiveling heads permit virtually any attitude of climbing, diving, rolling, and even inverted flight to be modeled as well.
