I've just got to the stage of basing my first guns for my ACW armies. Up till now I've used RFnF base sizes but 1inch wide just seems a little cramped for me. However I haven't based any ACW artillery before so don't know. Would like to know what other people are using. |

I have been using F&F basing. It works well for field artillery but is really cramped for fortress guns. I generally only have two figures for crew (occasionally three, but not often.) |

Thanks John I'll give it a try. |

I have heard of one guy who used a base that had a 45 degree angle to the front. This was also his allowed firing arc, so the "protractor" was built into the base. Sounds like a good idea. I'm going to try it. |
