I actually suggested the allied 'star' markers.

They're nicely made and shipping was pretty reasonable from the US to the UK.

Flock and terrain identically to the units and put them under the NCO when needed.

BA Pin Markers, used them for years. I've used them for CrossFire for 8-10 years at least.

I bought a bag of rubberish ceramic tile spacers (100), years ago. I've painted the two sides in whatever colors I need for pinned, routed etc.

I use small red dice.

Miniature cotton reel, they are around 1 centimetre high, have a flat bottom and are easy to pick up. made in wood they do not look too obvious. I bought mine from a card makers craft shop.

Im with Hardwood Hobbies on this one. 8mm red dice. Compact. And red stands out, yelling out " Dont forget to add the pin".

I bought a couple of packs of tiny 5mm dice and made holders for them with pennies and fimo.

The best markers I've seen in use were made from the spares box; a rifle driven into the ground with a helmet hanging from it…

I used Litko Pinned Markers: link

I use little gemstones from Magic The Gathering but I've seen a great idea:
.22 casings!

snurl126 Jan 2015 5:20 a.m. PST

I use red dice too, but I like the .22 casing idea.y

Are you sure they weren't these?

We have been looking at using D10. They are all over and your pinning should not exceed 10 anyway without the unit routing.

Ooh, that reminds me that I have cubes of small D10's down in the dice cellar!

We use very small wooden beads purchased from a dollar store. They work very well.

We use black beads for pins – and a single green bead to show a unit that has activated in a turn; we find this much better than using a larger Bolt Action dice. The only Order that is relevant for an activated unit is "Ambush", so we have a few Ambush markers printed.

Personally, using a rifle with helmet effect is a little strange for my tastes – and moving these "headstones" around with active units that are pinned just doesn't seem right somehow.

Just carry a bag of pennies to toss down.

My buddy bought one of those cheapo goth/punk "bullet belts" from Spencer Gifts. It's a cheap fake leather belt that is covered in plastic half-bullets. He broke those off and uses them as pin markers – since it's a half a bullet they don't roll around and they're small enough to not get in the way but large enough to easily count them from across the table.

Here's my set -

Made 'em to work along with my Normandy terrain kit -

My God -I've had a moment of genius -you could use pins!!!

Aggie2105 Mar 2017 6:24 p.m. PST

Hi Dervel,

Can you share your source for the small ammo used on your pin markers? Thank you.

Aggie2105 Mar 2017 6:27 p.m. PST

Dervel,

You can disregard my question about the pin markers as I subsequently
found another of your posts from several years ago that answered my question.
