Dear List

Dover Books, an excellent vender of the most wonderful obscuria and marginalia you could imagine has apparently published a compendium of both books for a mere $14.95 USD. I ordered it and am looking forward to seeing how they put did this. It seems to be a good low cost thing to lay your hands on.

They are both available free from the Gutenberg Project:

gutenberg.org/ebooks/3690

I have them on my Kindle.

But the Gutenberg versions do not have photos, correct?

You can get editions with illustrations from PG.

For me its the lovely line drawings and photos in both books that make them so special. Worth pursuing those.

The Gutenberg epub version has photos.

Gutenberg does indeed have them, but with these books, the real point is not the content (so-so), but the actual book as object itself.
