Although this question could apply to any scale, I am mainly asking it here since it is 6mm where I am thinking of creating some for. SO.. Do you create Smoke/wreckage markers, or use something to that effect in your 6mm gaming? What if it is a convention game? Do you think it adds to the game or gets in the way? Thanks for your thoughts.. Moe |

I'm all about the visuals so I like them. A while back CinC had a pack of vehicles for replacing the axis and allies tanks for the big A&A games. It was a cheap price and came with 10 each Shermans, PZ4s, T34s, Cromwells, and some Japanese tank. I took the hulls and chewed them up a little with a metal track cutter then painted them and added a tuft of black colored polyfil batting. They look good on the table and do a good job of blocking lines of sight. The fact that I chewed them up and put the smoke on them makes them hard to recognize so I use them for all periods. |

They definitely add to the game, and visual appeal. |

Improves the visuals for sure and some cases will have wrecks obstruct line of sight. |

Here's a tutorial for some great smoke/brew-up markers. I'm going to be making some myself if my bag of autumnal clump foliage ever shows up. 6mm.wargaming.info/page505.shtml |

I like having diorama markers. Not just some cotton-ball or poly-fill "smoke" for Napoleonics, but something to add the light of muzzle flashes, too! Those cheap little LED "tea lamps" are great, the flickering effect really adds to the appearance of a "brewed-up" tank. I'm not planning on doing any wrecked mecha for Robotech Tactics, most of the kills shown in the series didn't leave much wreckage. |

For my games of Ogre, I wanted to make small craters to replace destroyed armor units. I didn't have time to sculpt anything, so instead I applied circular adhesive labels to pennies, then spraypainted them brown and black. Placed on the table with a wisp of cotton to represent smoke, they do a decent job. You can see them in the right of this image:

6mm Sci-Fi tank game using MAATAC vehicles. Burning marker is painted cotton batton, yellow, red and black matt paint. For smoke (vehicles on fire, but not destroyed), we use a similar marker with just white cotton batton. I have about 40 markers of each type because we use over 40 vehicles in our games. |

So what your saying is I've got a few hundred Wreckage/Smoke markers to make? At least I'll get good at it.. Hopefully. |

Nice to see some MAATAC figures. I got loads of them. |
