Just posted some images on our Victrix face book page of 2 16 man units of Ancient Italians I have converted for my Punic War collection.

The figures are mostly converted from the Italian Allied Legions box and the Greek Peltasts and unarmoured Hoplites box sets but with a few parts from the armoured Greeks and some bits from other manufacturers.

I will be doing a full article on these when I get some free time and also when I get the figures back form the painter so I can complete the text and photography.

They were fun to do and I hope you like them and hopefully inspire a few people to have a go them selves. (Maybe a plastic conversion board might be useful to people?)

Regards,

Steve.

These are very well done – what an artist you are Steve! Particularly like the sword armed trumpeter. Am always looking for 'unusual' command types so you have given me some ideas.

Just used a spare trumpeter's arm on a broken metal phalangite and have used metal weapons and shields on plastics so am part of the way there. If I did not have far too many thureophoroi and Italians in the pile I certainly would be using your chaps.

Looking forward to playing about with the various Carthaginians, Spanish and Gauls over the course of 2015.

They look pretty great! I am using some with Aventine shields and some parts from the Athenian box to make allied Italian spear-men myself.
