Looking to make up a skirmish---French/Indian war period Scale 1/72 up to 35mm Hoping to find Indians with tomahawk/knife combo--I am ok with getting extra parts to mod the minis myself Finding lots with rifle--but not many hand weapons Any idea on where to look would be appreciated. |

If you are up for plastic you should look at this set. link If you want smaller scale check out Conquest miniatures Indians. link Bob Murch of Pulp Figures is doing a line of earlier woodlands Indians for the Huron/Iroquois war that might produce, in time, what you are looking for. link |

Have you looked at any of the 40mm stuff that is out there, or is that too big? |

Conquest do very nice figures. On the slighter side of 28mm, but on a scenic table the difference is negligible. Redoubt offered a few Indians as you describe, but they were on the very large to huge side of 28mm. The Redoubt F&I British and French are much more reasonably sized. |

I really like the Redoubt FIW range, I have about 100 in total for muskets and tomahawks. I recommend them. |

There is currently no US distributor for Redoubt and I've had bad luck ordering them direct, so I'd stay away from that option. -Steve |

Have you tried Galloping Major Miniatures (UK)? Lance is a great guy and his figures have lots of detail and are a treat to paint. You can also order them from his US distributor Loyalhanna. Also Bob Murch has released a pack of Aboriginals with hand weapons (US). I have ordered a couple of time from Redoubt and had no problems. Nice figures and they match well with Galloping Major and Murch's figures. Regards, Hitman |

Thanks everyone, for your question and responses. I also have been looking into setting up a French Indian war skirmish game, and the information about the various vendors will be a big help to me with that project! |
