Hey guys, quick question, did the Vietnamese T-54's have white rims on their roadwheels in combat, can't really figure it out, i know someone on here would know right away.

All my references suggest no white rims.

Are all the ones on display in Vietnam repainted afterwards? I guess so, they look in pretty good condition and all have white rims. Thanks for the prompt answer :)

I think the white rims were used for parades – Soviets did something similar.

Yes, white rims, red bolt heads etc are parade use only.

Check out the film of T-54s knocking down the gates to the Presidential Palace in Saigon in 1975. YouTube

Oh I love white rims on a vehicle! They are a must have for the gentleman tanker about the jungle!

If you insist on whitewalls, then fishtail fenders and cone pointed tail lights are de riguer.

,,,and lots of chrome,,,lots of chrome,,,

Well, the M60's in Berlin had chrome heater pipes and tow cables, and they sported a wax coat on their paint jobs to make them nice and shiny. Better that white rims any time.

British Berlin units might have been slightly more practical – if weird camouflage!

White rims were for parades, not combat.
