Instead of simply posting about this one volume here, I decided to do a group review of all three Osprey Campaign titles for the SYW (European "Frederician" theater – to 1758), by Simon Millar and Adam Hook. Blog post here: link TL:DR Really, for anyone interested in Linear Warfare and Grand Tactics in the 18th Century, and is looking for useful diagrams of units in formation and the movements of those units over the course of a campaign and throughout a day of battle, these are very useful volumes, and I look forward to adding them to the collection and reading them again. |

I liked your review; Osprey Campaigns are what they are – a "taster" to get you interested in a subject, not a "be-all-and-end-all" (unless you are just peripherally interested as part of a club project where someone else has all the real knowledge). |

olicana: Your blog is a joy to behold. I hope you don't mind, I've added a link to it on my blog list on my own blog. I am envious, and in awe. Several posters to this forum, like yourself, DAF, SM, and others continue to inspire me with your ambition, enthusiasm and generosity. It's really great to see just what a wargamer can achieve, even when one chooses to be a solo wargamer. Cheers. Supercilius Maximus: Thank you, sir. As above, greatly appreciated. Thanks for taking a look. Cheers. |
