Well I just started putting together my first Bolt Action platoon and plan on using airborne and Decima Mas (run as marines, using Italian infantry with some conversion). Well, bought a few picks of Warlord airborne and an Italian infantry section. Assembled all the airborne and they look great.

Unfortunately, I just got around to assembling the Warlord infantry and they seem extremely underscale when compared to the airborne. Like half a head smaller and less bulky. It's tough to tell though if there's a difference in scale or if this is a trick of the airborne's baggy uniforms (at least on the bulk issue, still doesn't explain the height). Anyone noticed this?

Thinking of trading in the Warlord Italian infantry for BTD Italians? Anyone mix the two ranges?

I can tell you that WL mix well with Perry Italians. I have several of the airborne figures – sniper, flamethrower, and mixed them in with the regular Italians no problem.
